Warner Bros. has announced that it has plans for a live-action Mortal Kombat series “that showcases some of the franchise’s most storied characters, while introducing a new generation of fighters.”
The news came as part of Warner Bros.’ announcement of its new digital production unit Blue Ribbon Content. Aside from the brief description of the Mortal Kombat series above, their was little else revealed about the series although it was described as coinciding with Mortal Kombat X, so perhaps the two will be related.
No release window was given for the series. Mortal Kombat X will launch for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One 15 April 2015.
