Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, Head of Sony Worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida has revealed that Project Morpheus is 85% complete.
While Yoshida didn’t give a timeline or price for release he said that the cost of Sony’s virtual reality headset should be kept down as much of the tech used to build the units are shared with smartphones.
At TGS Sony offered visitors a chance to use Morpheus with an underwater exploration mini-game. “With the Morpheus and PlayStation 4, we can offer [players] a totally new virtual reality experience in a lighthearted and fun manner,” Yoshida said, adding virtual travel and education as potential applications for the device.
