The Great Ace Attorney teams up with Sherlock Holmes

A very familiar face will be joining Phoenix Wright’s ancestor Ryuichi Naruhodo when The Great Ace Attorney is released for 3DS in Japan next year.

According to the most recent issue of Famitsu — as translated by Gematsu — the great detective Sherlock Holmes himself will join the adventure along with eight-year old doctor and literary girl Iris Wason.

Bringing Holmes into the mix means a new gameplay element dubbed Joint Reasoning.  On occasion Naruhodou and Holmes will need to work together and players will be required to work out where Sherlock’s deductive reasoning is heading in order to solve the mystery.

The Great Ace Attorney will feature 3D backgrounds for the first time in the series allowing the characters to interact with their surroundings.

The Great Ace Attorney has not been confirmed for a western localisation and will be released in Japan for 3DS in 2015.
