Report: Microsoft to offer Free Play Days with Xbox Live Gold

Xbox Gold subscribers could be in for a brand new “With Gold” promotion if an image posted on Reddit by a user — in the Xbox One preview program — is legitimate.

Reddit user JBurton90 posted the image which shows Max: The Curse of Brotherhood available as “Free Play Day with Gold” rather than being listed with a price.  Both Crimson Dragoon and Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut are listed as “Free with Gold” in the same image. Max: The Curse of Brotherhood was offered free as part of Games with Gold just last month.

While no details of just exactly what the program is have not yet been revealed, it seems fairly straightforward. Xbox Live Gold subscribers will likely be granted a day’s free access to games available on the Xbox Games Store. There’s been no official word from Microsoft, but a tweet from Xbox Support confirms the image is legitimate and that Microsoft will be announcing details shortly.
