It was pretty clear from the get go that Keiji Inafune’s Kickstarter project, Mighty No. 9, was going to have a distinctly Mega Man flavour to it. A new video with gameplay footage from the game has been released and shows just how much inspiration Mighty No. 9 takes from the Blue Bomber. All of it.
You’d be hard pressed to find anybody who has even a vague knowledge of Mega Man that doesn’t instantly see the parallels. Not that it’s a bad thing. Since Capcom has seemingly given up on Mega Man, why shouldn’t Inafune fill the niche?
Mighty No. 9 looks great at this stage and the similarities between it and any Mega Man title are sure to excite fans. Mighty N0. 9 recently returned to Kickstarter to try and secure funding to provide English voice acting.
Mighty No. 9 is coming to 3DS, Linux, Mac, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2015.
