GameSpot staff allegedly arrive to work to find they’ve been laid off

Various sources today report that a number of GameSpot employees have arrived to work today to find they’ve been laid off.

A tweet by Justin Haywald seems to confirm six staff members “and others” have lost their positions.

Several other Gamespot staff members have taken to Twitter to offer the sympathy over job losses.

We’ll report back when an official statement is made.

Our best wishes to those affected by these alleged layoffs.

Update: GameSpot Australia’s Zorine Te has taken to Twitter to confirm that Australian staff are unaffected by the layoffs.
