Sony adding original TV programming to PS4 with first show Powers debuting December

Much like Microsoft’s Xbox Originals TV programming, Sony has announced that it will bring original TV content to PS4 starting this December in North America.

The first show to hit the PS4’s as yet unnamed service will be Powers, based on the graphic novel of the same name. Series creator Brian Michael Bendis announced the show during Sony’s E3 media briefing where it was also revealed that the show would debut in December with the first episode available free to all PSN members. Additionally, the entire series will be made free for PlayStation Plus members.

An interesting turnaround for Sony, who last year took a swipe at Microsoft for not focusing enough on games.

What do you think of Sony branching out into original TV programming?
