The long awaited Vita, PS4 and Xbox One versions of Minecraft will be released 20 August for $20 a piece. Mojang announced the news today on its official site.
Those who already own Minecraft for PS3 or Xbox 360 will only be charged $5 for the PS4 or Xbox One versions (platform specific). The PS Vita and PS4 versions support Cross-Buy, so buying for either platform will unlock the game on the other. If you already own the PS3 version, the Vita version will be free. All of the PS3 version’s DLC is compatible with the Vita, however due to licensing deals not everything released for PS3 and Xbox 360 will work with current-gen consoles.
Players will be able to import their saves from PS3 and Vita to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One, but not the other way around.
