Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Origins available digitally for PS Vita soon

Konami has announced today that both Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Silent Hill: Origins will soon be available digitally — via the PlayStation Store — for PS Vita.

Shattered Memories was first released for Wii in 2009 before seeing a port on both the PS2 and PSP, while Origins was released for PSP then PS2. Origins is a prequel to the original Silent Hill and sees players assume the role of Travis Grady as he searches the eponymous town for a girl he rescued from a fire. The deeper he ventures into Silent Hill the more of his own repressed past he uncovers.

Shattered Memories is a reimagining of the first game in the series and sees players taking Harry Mason through the town to find his missing daughter with any and all combat removed from the game. The only option when faced with the monstrous denizens of Silent Hill is to flee. The plot and gameplay elements in Shattered Memories change depending on choices made by the player and based on questions asked of the player by an in-game psychotherapist.

Both games will be available digitally for PS Vita shortly, with a release date to be revealed soon.
