Report: Next Ace Attorney title to take place in Japan’s Meiji period

A scan from Famitsu reports that the next title in the Ace Attorney series will take place in Japan’s Meiji period.

Ace Attorney site Court-Records.net added to this report, tweeting that the game will be titled Dai Gyakuten Saiban – Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken, which translates to Grand Turnabout Trial – The Adventures of Naruhodou Ryuunosuke.

It’s assumed that gamers will play as an ancestor of Phoenix Wright (known as Ryuichi Naruhodo in Japan). The character in the scan, below, looks like Phoenix Wright, complete with a kimono and katana.

Court-Records.net continued to say that Ace Attorney developer Shu Takumi will lead the project. It’s unclear at this time if a western release is planned for the game.
