[UPDATE] Nintendo takes a swing at a Season Pass with Mario Golf: World Tour DLC

Nintendo has unveiled its DLC plans for upcoming Mario Golf: World Tour which include a Season Pass of sorts. Three DLC packs will be released for the game through May and June with each available to purchase from Toad’s Booth in game separately or as a “Three-Pack Set.”

The three packs — “Mushroom, Flower and Star Packs” — will each include two 18 hole courses and a new character. Separately, the pack’s cost $6 USD/£5.39 each, but in usual Season Pass fashion, purchasing them together nets you a discount. The Three-Pack will cost a discounted introductory price of $15 USD/£10.79. After 31 May the Three-Pack will set you back £13.49.

The “Mushroom Pack” launches alongside Mario Golf: World Tour on 3 May and introduces Toadette. The “Flower Pack” will be available in late May and includes Nabbit and Rosalina will join the roster with the “Star Pack” to be released in June. Those who purchase all three packs — whether separately or as part of the Three-Pack — will gain access to a special playable Gold Mario.

Mario Golf: World Tour launches with 10 courses and 126 holes and 16 characters including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Waluigi, Boo and the like. It features single player and local and online multiplayer as well as regional and worldwide tournaments.

We’ve reached out to Nintendo for local pricing on the DLC and Season Pass and will update the story as we receive more information.

Mario Golf: World Tour will be available exclusively for 2DS and 3DS on 3 May.

Update: Nintendo Australia has now confirmed pricing for Australia and New Zealand. Packs will be priced at $7.80 AUD ($10.20 NZD) while the Three-Pack Set will be priced at $15.60 AUD ($20.40 NZD) in the introductory period. After 31 May the Three-Pack Set will revert back to full price at $19.50 AUD ($25.50 NZD).
