Nintendo America took to Twitter this weekend to confirm that Pokémon transfers will go live in Pokémon X & Y starting 27 December 2013.

Unlike previous titles in the Pokémon franchise, Pokémon X and Y do not include in-built Pokémon transfer functionality. Instead, the functionality will be performed by an eShop app called Pokémon Bank, available at the end of the year. The app not only allows gamers to store their Pokémon, but allows them to transfer Pokémon from older titles into these new iterations.
The Pokémon Bank app will cost $5.00 USD to download and use. We’re working on a confirmation of Australian pricing.
Pokémon X and Y is available on 3DS from 12 October.
