Watch: A Bureau: XCOM Declassified developer diary exploring character and plot

A brand spanking new developer diary for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified has been released by 2K. In the video lead narrative designer Erik Caponi discusses the game’s 1960’s setting and the narrative that wraps around it.

According to Caponi, the 1960s were chosen as the setting for the game as it was the decade that gave rise to counter-culture and the civil rights movement. The American people began to question their government while the Kennedy assassination and the Cuban Missile Crisis both have been subject to conspiracy theories, which is a subject the game deals with heavily.

2K have also launched a web based mini game associated with The Bureau, called HungoverX. In it, players must guide a hungover Bill Carter through the worst office day of his life.

The browser based game is available at HungoverX.com.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified will be available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 23 August 2013.
