Sony set to launch its own TV service on PS4

The Wall Street Journal today reports that Sony is planning to launch an online, paid TV service by the end of the year on the PS4.

The WSJ says Sony has come to an agreement with Viacom to offer Viacom cable channels on an internet-based TV service.

Sony looks poised to stream cable channels alongside on-demand programming.

Viacom is control of TV channels including MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Logo, VH1 and Spike.

Microsoft has similar plans to launch TV programming on the Xbox One.
