In its last sales quarter, Nintendo sold only 160,000 Wii Us worldwide

Nintendo’s latest quarterly earnings report is now available, and sheds light on the extreme underperformance of the Wii U. Between April and June 2013, Nintendo’s (closest thing to a) next-gen console only sold 160,000 units around the world.

Of that 160,000 figure, 90,000 were sold in Japan, 60,000 in the US and the rest of the world — Australia included — made up the remaining 10,000. These new sales put total Wii U sales at 3.6 million units to date.

Is this the beginning of the end for Nintendo, or will they be able to turn it around? Let us know what you think, below.
