EA introduces the Origin Great Game Guarantee

Well, this is interesting.

EA today advised of a new Origin program launching today called the Origin Great Game Guarantee. Basically, you can buy a game on Origin digitally, and if you decide you hate it, you can turn it back in for a full refund.

“The new Origin Great Game Guarantee works like this: You may return EA full game downloads (PC or Mac) purchased on Origin for a full refund–within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from when you purchased it, or within the first seven days after the game’s release date if you pre-ordered it (whichever of these conditions happens first),” EA’s post explaining the scheme reads.

You don’t even need a good reason for handing the game back in, either. “If something doesn’t work out—you aren’t riveted by the storyline, or sucked in by the action, or even just if the game doesn’t play well with your video card—we’ve got your back,” the post continues.

Those wanting a refund can visit their order history page when logged into Origin, and then click the “request a refund” link. After a few short questions, your refund will be processed.

Is this a great move by EA, or a desperate one? You tell us.
