Japan is an Xbox One “tier two” country; receiving the console in 2014

We already knew that Japan and other Asian countries wouldn't be getting the Xbox One during the same November launch period as, say, North America or Australia. Now, we know a bit more.

Japanese gaming outletĀ 4Gamer spoke with Microsoft Japan Vice President Yasuyuki Higuchi, who confirmed that Japan was considered a "tier two" country in terms of the Xbox One launch. Higuchi also conceded that the Xbox One will not be avaliable in Japan until 2014.

All is not lost, however; Higuchi also promised that Japan and other tier two countries wouldn't have to wait long after the Xbox One's tier one release. January 2014 is already two months after we'll be getting the console, though... so the question is, how long does Higuchi consider to be long?
