Michel Ancel has told Shacknews that 40 levels originally created for Rayman Origins have been updated and remastered to be included in Rayman Legends.
The 40 levels selected to be included in Legends are “the best levels” from Origins according to Ancel. The levels have been updated with the new lighting engine from Legends as well as touch controls for Murfy on both Wii U and PS Vita. The levels have apparently been modified “to make sure that players who already knew these levels would still be entertained when playing them.”
The levels will be contained within the “Back to Origins” chapter and have been included because “Rayman Origins doesn’t exist on Wii U”. Ancel added “it’s a way for those players to play the game in HD. And because it was already done, we gave them away for free”.
Rayman Legends will be available for PS3, PS Vita, Wii U and Xbox 360 on 29 August 2013.
