Recap: Starlight Gameathon 2013

3 May 2013

The 25-hour Starlight Gameathon has just wrapped up, and while we wait for tally totals, one thing is already clear: the event was a huge success, raising funds for Starlight’s work with seriously ill children and young people both online and via EB Games retail stores.

You can still donate to the cause by clicking this link, and if you’re not fully convinced to support Starlight yet, this article by NineMSN GamesFIX’s Ben Salter — who’ll you know as friend of the site, Editor of MMGN and co-host of the Friendly Fire Cast — should win you over.

For 24 straight hours, EB Games Mods, gaming press, publishers, personalities and ACTUAL famous people like Neighbours‘ Ryan Maloney (Toadie), Hi-5’s newest addition Mary Lascaris and members of the Melbourne Storm entertained the gaming community via Twitch TV. Here are some photos and videos of what took place, thanks to Andy Wells of Tech Daily and GameArena’s Weekly Update.

The full photo album — featuring gaming personalities like Rae Johnston, Danii Johnstone, Elizabeth Danger, Mary ‘JipD’ King, Andy Wells, Kelsey Gambles, Jay Ballzup and more — can be found here.

The entire 25 hour stream can be viewed here:

We’ll let you know how much was raised when it’s confirmed by EB Games.
