Warner Bros. today confirmed details of Injustice: Gods Among Us‘ iOS free-to-play mobile app, providing info on mobile combat plus a variety of unlockables that affect console play.

“The Injustice: Gods Among Us mobile game features a collectible card mechanic and engages players in 3-on-3 tag team combat that pits many of DC Comics most popular icons such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Aquaman and more against one another,” Warner Bros. said.

Additionally, by registering for a Warner Bros. ID (WBID) account in-app, and linking that WBID to Injustice on Xbox 360 or PS3, gamers will be able to unlock content in both the iOS app and the console games using either platform.

“The team at NeatherRealm Studios created a custom mobile experience for Injustice: Gods Among Us on the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch that delivers gameplay mechanics created specifically for the platform” said Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios.  “We’re excited to offer fans a new way to play fighting games that can be enjoyed alone or as a companion experience to the console versions.”

The Injustice: Gods Among Us app is available now via iTunes. A demo for the console versions of Injustice is available now, and the full retail release for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U is 17 April.
