Yesterday, the Electronic Sports League Australia and New Zealand (ESL ANZ) and Wargaming announced a World of Tanks tournament that will feature at Supanova Expo in Melbourne.

“The tournament for one of eSports’ fastest growing titles will see a series of 4 online qualifiers culminate in the top 8 being invited to the Supanova Expo in Melbourne, where they will battle it out in front of a live audience on stage to declare the Autumn ANZ champion of World of Tanks,” said ESL ANZ.

If you’re keen to compete, online qualifiers will soon be taking place. “There will be a series of 4 online cups with the top 2 earning their spot in the live finals. Each cup will be broadcasted by ESL.tv ANZ and gold will be on offer for the 3rd and 4th placed teams. The format will be similar to the Go4WoT competitions held in the EU with a single elimination best of 1, all the way until the grand final which will be best of 3,” ESL ANZ confirmed.

The online qualifiers take place during the following dates and times:

  • 17 March 2013, 10.00 AEDT
  • 24 March 2013, 10.00 AEDT
  • 30 March 2013, 10.00 AEDT
  • 31 March 2013, 10.00 AEDT

Supanova Expo takes place in Melbourne between 12-14 April, and during the weekend, a prize pool of $10,000 will be distributed amongst the World of Tanks tournament winners.
