PAX AUS keynote speaker Ron Gilbert leaves Double Fine


Ron Gilbert, developer of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion and the newly released The Cave, recently announced that he'll be leaving Double Fine Productions.

Writing on his on blog, Grumpy Gamer, Gilbert said, "it's time for me to move on from Double Fine and plot my next move."

"[There are] so many games left to be designed," he continued.

Double Fine has yet to make an official comment on Gilbert's departure, but CEO Tim Schafer tweeted, "Good luck, Ron! "Thanks for The Cave!" after the news.

Ron Gilbert remains the keynote speaker of this year's PAX AUX, taking place 19-21 July in Melbourne.
