New Tomb Raider movie reboot to be based on the new game

Crystal Dynamics head Darrel Gallagher has revealed in an interview with Variety that a reboot of the Tomb Raider film series is in the works and will be, at least in part, based on the recently released Tomb Raider game.

While he didn’t offer much in the way of details on the film he did say “They [GK Films] are working from this new take that we’ve given them”, meaning a younger inexperienced Lara. He continued, saying of partners GK Films, “It’s a good partnership. We’re seeing the challenges through the same lens”.

The film reboot is being written by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, who were behind Iron Man.
