The unstoppable juggernaut that is Minecraft continues its steady march towards world domination with news that the game is being considered for release on more platforms.
Microsoft currently holds an exclusivity deal on Minecraft which sees it restricted to the Xbox 360 for the time being, however Jens Bergensten, lead designer on Minecraft, said in an interview with iGamer that Mojang would consider porting the game to PlayStation when the exclusivity period expires. Any hopes for a GamePad compatible Wii U version appear to have been tossed out the window with Bergensten saying a version for Nintendo’s console is “very unlikely”.
Great news for PlayStation fans and even more bad news for Nintendo fans. Looks like the Wii U can’t catch a break. Personally, I think a Cross-Save PS3/Vita version of Minecraft would be incredible. What do you think?
