Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on PC, PS3, 360 and Wii U

Last night, Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag by providing box art for the game amidst rumours that the game’s main character and gameplay locations had been confirmed.

Ubisoft’s forums were a flurry of activity when box art from the new title was discovered, followed shortly thereafter by a press release from Ubisoft confirming that the title will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC.

A Facebook fan page called Assassin’s Creed 3 then seemingly confirmed that the game will feature “Edward Kenway… Connor Grandfather, Haytham Father (sic)”, but it’s quite obvious that the page is not official. Don’t get sucked in, folks.

Several American media outlets have confirmed they’d attended an Assassin’s Creed IV event earlier in the week, and will be allowed to run content from Monday 4 March. Until then, we know from the PS3 box art that it includes “60 minutes of exclusive gameplay,” mirroring an arrangement that Sony had with Ubisoft involving exclusive content for Assassin’s Creed III.
