The Prince of Persia franchise is currently “paused”

Prince of Persia games are currently “paused,” according to Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat.

Speaking with IGN in a recent interview, Mallat has confirmed that the series is on hold while Ubisoft strategises its next move.

“Brand management is a tricky thing. It needs people’s attention a lot,” Mallat said. “I think it is fair to say that, right now, Prince of Persia is being paused. But we said the same thing for some other brands that suddenly popped up because a team is willing to do it.”

“As soon as we have something to show, we will,” he concluded.

If you had Ubisoft’s ear, what would you suggest? A return to the style of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, or would you rather continue on with the 2008 reboot? I’ll take the new 2008 adventures of the Prince without a moment’s hestitation.
