Medal of Honor franchise taken “out of the rotation” at EA

During EA’s third quarter financial call, COO Peter Moore announced that Medal of Honor will be taken out of the company’s release rotation.

“The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers,” said Moore of October’s Medal of Honor: Warfighter. “Critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were, frankly, lower than it deserved. This one is behind us now. We are taking Medal of Honor out of the rotation and have a plan to bring year-over-year continuity to our shooter offerings.”

Frankly, Mr. Moore, our review score of 4.5 for Warfighter was spot-on and well-deserved.

EA will continue to release both Battlefield and Battlefield: Bad Company, and potentially could be publishing the Homefront franchise now that it’s been purchased by Crytek.

I don't know how publishers/developers can say, "the game didn't get the reviews it deserved" – they aren't in the position to make such stupid comments like that. If a game is good then the game will be rated highly, perhaps they should focus on what warranted such scores and not just focus on the number itself. I am sort of disappointed with him saying that.

“My mum said the game was great, so all you reviewers are wrong.”
