DayZ creator considered "cutting losses" after The WarZ scandal

Dean "Rocket" Hall, the creator and self driven developer behind the smash hit ArmA II mod DayZ recently admitted in a Reddit post that the fallout of the The WarZ scandal made him seriously question his desire to contribute to the gaming industry.

Speaking in a community created Reddit post after a period of self-admitted inactivity, Hall said he felt "pretty depressed about the whole situation," and it made him question whether or not he "wanted to be involved in the industry."

Following The WarZ's misleading posting on Steam yesterday, the game is no longer available for purchase on the major digital release platform. Many users felt the developers lied about features not in the game they were actually selling, and Steam today began issuing full refunds.

"At my Army Discharge medical this week," Hall added, "they noted I now have high blood pressure. Some things in life just aren't worth worrying about." We couldn't agree more.
