Celebrate the new year with the God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta for PlayStation Plus

Sony revealed today that the mutliplayer beta for the next game in the God of War series – God of War: Ascension – will be coming to PlayStation Plus 10 January 2013.  For a sneak peek at the multiplayer check out the brand new “Evil Ways” trailer.

The multiplayer beta will feature both types of maps (large and compact) and the “Team Favour Rush” mode – Ascension’s version of Team Deathmatch.

The multiplayer is set to feature a levelling system similar to other multiplayer games. In Ascension you will be earning “favour points” from the Gods which will unlock new customisations for your Gladiator.

Finally, the beta will include a never-before-seen single player take on the multiplayer mode. No details other than being “designed for solo-warrior fighting for those who like to go it alone” have been released. My bet is that it’s a “Horde” mode.

The beta will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers 10 January 2013.

God of War: Ascension will be available exclusively for PS3 14 March 2013.
