FIFA 13’s Ultimate Team mode, an online trading card mode that’s proven to be quite popular, was disabled in the late hours of 4 December and remains and offline today.
EA Sports took to their forums to report “issues currently affecting [FUT] auctions,” about an hour before they disabled the auction component of FIFA Ultimate Team. Later in the evening, EA Sports then disabled the entire Ultimate Team mode, including online play, trading, its store, web app and the mobile app.
Any other FIFA 13 online mode is unaffected by this action.
In late September, EA Sports had to make a similar move, disabling the Ultimate Team web app to prevent phishing attacks that were taking advantage of an exploit.
We’ll advise when FUT is back up and running.
