Microsoft retires Facebook and Twitter apps from the 360 dashboard

Three years ago (has it been that long already? Yikes.), Microsoft added Twitter and Facebook apps to the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Now, they're taking them away.

Be honest now -- you haven't used either app since you first downloaded it to give it a whirl, right? Well, Microsoft is aware of this too, and as such, they've revealed to IGN that they're "retiring the Facebook and Twitter apps."

If you're desperate for social media on your console, Microsoft recommends using Internet Explorer 9, an application that will be added with the update. Or, you know, you could use any of the other seventeen ways you get to either service right now.
