Square-Enix announced at TGS this year that Kingdom Hearts would be receiving the HD remake treatment. It would include Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and be titled Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix. Millions of fanboys pumped their fists in the air and celebrated late into the night. Get ready to do it all again though as rumours are swirling of an HD remake of Kingdom Hearts II.
Speaking with Famitsu magazine, Kingdom Hearts designer Tetsuya Nomura was asked if there were any plans for an HD remake of Kingdom Hearts II after the release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix. Nomura replied, "It would be unnatural if there wasn't one." He didn't give a solid indication of when to expect it or even if a remake is currently being produced, but his words do provide a glimmer of hope for fans. Although we all kind of assumed Kingdom Hearts 2.5 would be released one day after the news of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix was announced.
