Yesterday we brought you the news that Nori, a character from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey would be playable in the upcoming Guardians of Middle-earth. Today we are delighted to announce that Guardians of Middle-earth will be available for download from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live 5 December 2012. Not only that, but PS3 owners will be able to purchase a PlayStation Network voucher from retailers which will allow them to redeem a code to download the game. Purchasing the voucher from a retailer comes with added benefits including;

  • Pre-paid, discounted access to the digital content offered post-launch; and
  • The “Season Pass” for DLC.

DLC is set to include additional maps, a new gameplay mode and additional characters, both good and evil, some of which will be based on key characters in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Purchasing the PS3 version from a retailer comes with a game case which will feature the box art seen below.

Guardians of Middle-earth will be available 5 December for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Are you ready to guard “Middle-earth”?
