As previously rumoured, SingStar will become a free download on the PlayStation Store for PS3 “very soon” in Europe.
According to the European PlayStation Blog, the free version won’t even require the standard SingStar mic –- you’ll be able to use official wireless headsets, USB microphones, or the PlayStation Eye microphone that’s inside the camera.
Whilst the app is free, individual songs are not. You can pay and download tunes through the SingStore, or sing to “short demo songs” as well.
Since we usually mirror European functionality, expect this to roll around to Australia at the same time. We’ll report back when we have a confirmation and a date.
