Will the Wii U launch in North America 18 November?

Well, let the rumours begin!

A number of major outlets have reported today that the Wii U has been tipped to release on 18 November in the United States and Canada.

Australian-based Nintendo site Vooks.net is reporting that accessory maker PDP has told managers at the USA Gamestop Managers Conference that their Wii U accessories will be available from 18 November.

Is this jumping the gun on an actual release date? Perhaps, but Vooks.net has also pointed out that 6 years ago, the Wii was launched on 19 November -- and like 18 November this year, that date falls on a Sunday.

Nintendo America is holding an event on 13 September that should shed more light on this rumour; hopefully on an Australian release date as well.
