Team Ninja today unveiled a ton of new information regarding the upcoming Dead or Alive 5, including returning charcters and more information on new and returning play types.

Returning to the series are Tina and Jann Lee. Says Team Ninja, "To premier these two new characters, Team Ninja has released all new images of the characters and a video vignette highlighting both fighters squaring off in heated tag team combat, with the return of a fan-favorite stage as the backdrop."

You can also see Dead or Alive 5's tag team mode in the video above. Says Team Ninja, "it’s full-on tag team combat, as...fighters compete in an electrified ring surrounded by a captivated crowd of cheering fans. Set in a packed wrestling arena, fighters must carefully outmaneuver their opponent to avoid being zapped by the high voltage current coursing through the ropes. Even the slightest touch can instantly stun, leaving one open to a vicious tag team combo."

For those new to the series, Team Ninja has also promised that Dead or Alive 5 will include "an improved Training Mode that lets players control more features than the any previous Dead or Alive game," alongside optional missions that take place throughout the game's Story mode, designed to "teach players everything from basic controls to advanced fighting techniques!"

Look for Dead or Alive 5 on Xbox 360 and PS3 from 25 September, distributed in Australia by Mindscape.
