We’ve got our NHL 13 cover star!

Well, after a very long voting period, the fans have spoken -- the Philadelphia Flyers' Claude Giroux will grace the cover of EA Sports' NHL 13.

Giroux beat out goaltender Pekka Rinne, a Nashville Predators' goalie, for the honour last night at the 2012 NHL Awards show.

"The support fans have given me throughout the campaign has been unbelievable," Giroux said in a statement provided by EA Sports. "I am very excited to be on the cover of NHL 13 and I want to thank everyone who campaigned and voted for me - especially my teammates, the Flyers organization, and of course all the NHL fans who voted and tweeted."

Giroux's cover (above) looks okay...but we here at Stevivor.com maintain we'd have preferred one with the Detroit Red Wings' Pavel Datysuk.

NHL 13 skates onto consoles this September.
