Nintendo looking at Wii U support for multiple tablet controllers

We’ll admit it: we’re greedy. We looked at the Wii U during presentations at E3 and thought, “gee, it’d be nice if you didn’t have to share one of those giant controllers between four players!”

We’re willing to bet you did too. To back us up, Rob Crossley from Develop‘s come out with news reporting that it was a shared sentiment, and that Nintendo is listening.

Develop’s been speaking with a credible source within Nintendo, and they’ve acknowledged quite a bit:

“Nintendo now know they absolutely need to support two tablets,” the source said.

“At E3 they didn’t commit to this, but they know how important it is to make it technically feasible to support two screens. Even if that affects framerate, as a developer and player, I don’t care. It needs to work. Developers will design appropriate games for this. If you’re building a quiz game you’re not going to give a sh*t about the framerate.”

What do you think about that, gamers? Are two tablets enough for four players on a Wii U? Should Nintendo work on support for four full controllers? How much do you think that will effect cost? Let us know in the comments below!
