WP7 Marketplace revisited — is there an app for that YET?

The WP7 Marketplace now has over 25,000 apps in it. But is there quality amongst all that quantity?

Back when I first got my HTC Mozart, I compared WP7 apps to iPhone apps. Now, more than 7 months later, it’s time to revisit the list and update the apps I had, the apps I now have, and the apps I still want.

(It should be noted that every WP7 listed is personally recommended by yours truly, and the apps listed here make up about 90% of the apps I actually have on my phone.)

The apps (or equivalents) that I already had

iPhone 4 WP7
Facebook Facebook
Twitter Twitter
SoundHound Shazam
NewsRack Wonder Reader
YouTube YouTube
Kindle Kindle
Dropbox KickBox
Australia Post Australia Post
Weather The Weather Channel
eBay eBay
World Clock World Clock
Flight Control Flight Control

The apps (or equivalents) I have found since

iPhone 4 WP7
Comixology DC Comics
Google Maps gMaps Pro
Epicurious Epicurious
WordPress WordPress
NAB NAB website pinned to Start
Angry Birds Angry Birds
Plants vs Zombies Plants vs Zombies
ScoreMobile ScoreMobile

Apps I believe to be unique to WP7

iPhone 4 WP7
Cocktail Flow

Apps (or equivalents) I cannot find on WP7

iPhone 4 WP7
Citrix Receiver
NHL GameCentre
Tram Tracker

Overall, I’m impressed with the speed in which the Marketplace is growing, and that several of my wishlist apps have been delivered. I’m still waiting eagerly for some of my frequently accessed iPhone apps, with a priority on LogMeIn and Citrix to access my home and work PCs, Quota to manage my bank accounts, CityLink and Myki accounts, etc, and Qrank as it’s the best trivia game I’ve ever played.

What about you, gentle readers? How are you rating the WP7 Marketplace? What apps are you missing and can’t live without, and what amazing finds have you made? Hit up the comments and let us all know!
